[pct-l] hiking long distance in pants instead of shorts

[ Converted text/html to text/plain ]

Hi Jared,

I don't have experience hiking long distances in long pants, but I will be
gaining that experience on my thru-hike this year. I don't want to deal with
sunscreen, or sunburns, so long pants seem like a good idea. Check out
RailRiders clothing (www.railriders.com[1]). Somone on this list had suggested
them previously. I bought an eco-mesh long sleeve shirt, which I've tested and
it was great, so I plan to use it during the Mojave section. There is a mesh
panel running the length of the underside of the arm all the way down the side
of the torso area. Very ventilated! Plus extremely lightweight, comfortable,
and pretty good lookin, too. They also make eco-mesh pants (not convertible),
and I think I'm getting those, as well. Side note: while the products from
this company seem good, I received very poor customer service. Hopefully, it
would be better for you....
