Fw: [pct-l] Pack Recommendations

I hear you...race you to the top..!!! My first JMT hike (1997) had me
carrying a 35 lb pack without food and water...(I almost died going up Bear
Ridge after resupplying at Vermilion..I must have been carrying close to 60
lbs...) Subsequent section hikes have seen a gradual reduction in base
weight...and without any inconvenience either.....(1999) Echo lake to the
Oregon border..27 lbs (ooohhhh)...(2000) Echo Lake to Toulumne..19 lbs

JMT (2002) 14 lbs (with a regulation 2 lb Bearikade canister..not like
Reynold's illegal one)

PCT 2003 10 lbs and counting....

2 lbs pack

2 lbs shelter

3 lbs sleeping bag ,pad and stove

3 lbs luxury items

and with 25 lbs of spare tire , i should break even waaaay before Agua
Dulce...
