I do have to say that I had a great experience at REI yesterday when I went
in to have the custom superfeet insoles made. The guy I talked to not only
understood his product but told me, before I could tell, him what was wrong
with my foot. I have pins from a fracture and the heel ligament is
loosening. He took one look at it and knew that was what was going on.
He spent a lot of extra time making sure it fit to help with that.

We have 2 REI stores in Portland and I always go to this one as that's
typically the kind of service I get.
