[pct-l] Ice Axe again and Titanium pots verses Alum. pots.

 Two points-- A long ice axe is less likely to enter your ribs in a fall.
Second , when walking down hill , a long axe acts as a third leg a prevents
you at the very least from falling more often on the down hill sections. (
Verses a dangling short axe held in ready postion) Long axe  helps to be "
Proactive" against falls , not just " Reactive" as short chest sucking axes
are.
     Greg is right on about length in a self belay as well. If you must go
light, go titanium but full length.
