[pct-l] Memorial service for Mary B.

Went to a memorial service today for a 93 year old woman who led an
incredibly varied and healthful life before dieing in her sleep. There was a
list of her favorite sayings and poems and I thought some were pertinent to
the PCT so here goes:
                            Press On
Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not.
Nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not;
Unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education alone will not. The world is
full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are
omnipotent.
                                     Forests
Forests were made for weary men
That we might find our souls again
And little leaves were hung on trees
To whisper of old memories
And trails with cedar shallow black
Were placed there just to lead us back
Past all the pitfalls of success
 To childhood's faith and happiness
Far from cities craft and fraud
Oh Forests - lead us back to God

 and finally just for fun:
 Don't be what you isn't
 Just be what you is
Cuz if you is what you isn't
Then you isn't what you is!!
