It is a truly insane person who says: My calf's were scabbed over from
consistently plunging knee deep through the crusted snow.  Extremely painful
to the touch, especially when brushed with my opposite boot.  Regardless, I
enjoyed
the experience and woudn't have traded them in for an easier time.

I am not insane in this way. That's why I don't thruhike. My insanity runs
more towards
the "Pissing in the Wind" type.
