Tyvek as tarp material? Any reactions, comments, advice? I've looked
at it
at the home improvement stores where you have to spend $70 for a roll,
but
$70 buys you a whole lot of it. I know a lot of people use it as ground
cover and, at least by the feel of the material itself, there is no
obvious
reason (at least to me)why it couldn't be used as a tarp, except perhaps
some aesthetic objection to being forced to look at the giant TYVEK
lettering whenever you spread it out,

$70 isn't such a lot of money that I couldn't just pick up a roll
anyway, I
just want to know if anyone can point out something I'm missing.

I think my real fear is I've always used a tent, never a tarp and I'm a
little intimidated by it. Isn't it technically immoral to go hiking
overnight without a tent? What next, abandon my trapper john? Some
things
simply are beyond considering.
