[pct-l] water treatment options in the desert

Chris,

If particulate matter is a big problem, often using a water bag and letting
the water sit (so the silt settles to the bottom) will help. Then you could
then siphon the water off the top and treat that. This only problem is that
it may take a while for the water to settle.

I'm planning on using a filter (and pre-filter) on my hike. Letting the
water settle is still a good idea if you do end up using a filter - it will
help prolong the life of the filter.
