I've said for years that I put more faith in weather "afcasts" than I do in=
 weather forecasts. And around the Pacific NW I've heard it said that only =
fools and newcomers try to predict the weather.

Having said that I will admit to voicing my own weather predictions from ti=
me to time. It's so much fun. Just take them with a large grain of salt.

I carried a Golite tarp on my entire PCT hike and it worked out great. It w=
ill hold up under a light snow, but now anything in feet. I used my separat=
e mosquito net a lot more often than I used my tarp. It's a Mombassa Trakke=
r I got from REI. Campmor also has them.

long the trail in Oregon and Washington.
