[pct-l] Re: Temperatures

Temps in southern California for the last week and projected for this week
are in the 80's, effectively melting all significant snow in the San
Gabriels, San Bernardinos and San Jacinto mountains. My sons went snow
boarding at Bear Mountain in Big Bear this weekend and found conditions so
bad, even on the man-made snow, that they came home mid-day.

Also, snow levels in the Sierras are below normal so far. Sierra Passibility
Predictions are being formulated and will be a great challenge this year.
Unless February and March are very wet, it could be another 1977 in southern
California. El Nino? What El Nino? We're supposed to get more
precipitation and warmer weather. So far, just the warmer weather.

Good luck 2003'ers!
