My logic was:
=09bears would be attracted to the campsite (odors)
=09some bears will be successful in getting food
=09some hikers will be injured
Maybe I'm wrong. Is it true that bears are never (ok, rarely)
successful in getting food when they encounter hikers that are sleeping
with their food Perhaps this issue would be better summarized as:
bad: sleeping with your food in established campsites
OK: sleeping with your food in dispersed campsites
Does the evidence (not anecdotal evidence) support this?
