Thanks for interesting lead to netiquette.

Now I know why some posters use asterisks for emphasis, like *this*, avoiding
the dreaded upper case.
And using the underline symbol before and after the line to be underlined was
cool too. (_War and Peace_)
I liked the "flame on" and "flame off" format as well, but I doubt I'll ever
use it. I tune these out totally.

Finally, the reference states that bogus news articles are bad form. Apropos
the one we all just saw.
