[pct-l] AT mileage



Agree that the AT is lightly "slower". Even though
it's better marked and the trail is really well
maintained it has more stones, more roots and is more
winding. It also has all the meaningless ups and
downs, which are much slower than the meaningless
switchbacks on the PCT.
Also agree that it's definetly worth doing, even
though it's more a cultural than a wilderness
experience. There are people everywhere, and you'd
really have to work hard to avoid them, but for me all
the people was one ot the things that made the AT
interesting. And you still have to hike 2000+ miles so
it's not easy.
Being the most famous trail in the world? Maybe, but
most famous in the US would be a less controversial
description.
