Any idea what the costs would be if thru hikers paid the same fees as
weekenders. Are you saying thru hikers should cough up that amount when they
recieve a permit? Just curious because right now there are many, many user
fees that apply to day hikers that don't apply to thru hikers. I'd estimate
at least $1000 to pay our fair share. But it would be the "right" thing to do
and as a bonus, it keeps low budget thru hiker "scum" off the trail!
