My 2 cents...
When I'm on the trail, I'm out-distanced, out-paced and out-jardined
every time - but I'll never be out-enjoyed. When I'm hiking 200 miles or
more with my house on my back, I'm just as much a hiker as anyone who's
been to Manning. I am in awe of those of you who truly thru-hike, but
my reality is that I may never have that opportunity. I'm going from
Idyllwild to Whitney next spring (God willing) and my permit says that
makes me a thru-hiker. I'll take that.
