[pct-l] long distance foot problems and EARLY '03

[ Converted text/html to text/plain ]
Hi, I play soccer at the University of Maryland, and have dished out healthy
fair amount of foot abused. I started having similar problems with numbness
and pain after getting a new pair of less than comfortable cleets. I went to
a pretty good podiatrist and just asked for arch supports, specifically with
metatarsal support b/c the pain/numbness was to the left of the ball of my
foot. I got them and have been wearing them since. They help ALOT. I really
reccomend them, they have helped the pain and stability in my knees and hips
and even my overall balance. Find another podiatrist and give it a second
shot, maybe what you have is no big deal, but maybe it will nag you for the
rest of your life. Be good to yourself and get it checked out.

SECOND! I am planning at hike for '03 and have time from April 1st - Aug 16th
free. I really want to leave at the beginning of april, and I have a fair
amount of snow experience, but does anyone out there have a good sense of what
it will be like to hit the sierra's a couple of weeks early? Is anyone else
leaving this early?

Thanks,
Lynn
