[pct-l] trekking poles

Hey have to get my two cents worth in here:

I used old ski poles without straps for years cause I could not adjust
the telescoping poles tight enough and I have had them give way on me
a number of times. Then I discovered the "flicklock" poles made by
Black Diamond and I love them. I can tighten them just right, however
I cannot remember ever changing them for different terrain, I just slide
my hands down the pole a little. Again I have taken off the straps. I
never
want to have a fall when my hands are encased in a strap and on a pole, it
is
kinda hard to tuck and roll with poles in your hands.
Oh yes, I lied, I do adjust one pole to set up my Six Moon Design Europa
Tent.
Cheers,

Marge (the old gal)

Ok, enough of this BS.

Yes I know you tough guys use ski poles that they found at goodwill for 3
cents BUT there is a damn good reason why intelligent people use telescoping
poles. You use different lengths depending on the terrain.
