Good idea. We actually went the other way and cut a slit in our Tyvek
groundcloth to
act as an emergency poncho. We have tried space blankets as groundcloths,
but they seem to fragile.

Not necessarily: we carry our poncho, doubling as raingear and an emergency
blanket (space blanket?) that we would also carry anyways.We put the
emergency
blanket on the bottom and the poncho on top: voila our floor.
