 Great full page article on this year's thru-hiker Brent Lennox in the Aug
31, 2002 Centralia Chronicle. Story is about the 18 y/0 Eugene hiker who
started about Aprl 24th. Guy got his diploma at age 15 and got a job at REI
at age 16. After 180 miles of packing a 1 pound stove , he finally got smart
and made an alcohol stove in his motel room in Idylwild. Also dumped his
spendy sandals for some cheap flip-flops. Also dumped his water filter for
chemical treatment. About 350 hikers applied for a permit to do entire trail
this year states Joe Sobinovsky in article. I'll save this piece for Brent or
his parents Richard and Mary in case they didn't get a copy.
