Deeply incised glacial creeks through timberline pumice canyons
like Russell and Milk are impossible to bridge economically and permanently,
so none of them are.    Calm clearwater creeks like Whitewater aren't such a
problem.   So the main trail to Jefferson Park developed along the easy way,
and only the through hikers and peak climbers have to deal with the glacial
milk streams.
