[pct-l] RE: end of the trail

I couldn't agree more.   All my most INTENSE experiences have been alone
and cross country, finding my way in new terrain.
Hiking down the PCT with other people is an entirely
different experience, better in some ways, but not as intense.    Between
the trail and the people, it's much less a wilderness experience.

But one is always aware that the consequences of mistakes are also more
intense.    As you say, one is more on one's guard, compared to say relaxing
in a motel shower.
