[pct-l] Doing the trail on the cheap...

I don't know what today's costs are, so I can't give you absolute amounts.
But figure that your PCT trip is going to cost less than your normal living
expenses.

When we did the PCT 25 years ago, I think our total cost--food, equipment,
postage, film and processing, transportation--was under $1000 per person.
Not bad for a 5-1/2 month vacation!

My big hike is planned for 2004 or 2005. This information on doing the
trail "on the cheap" is helpful in planning, but realistically, how much
money should I be putting away in my savings account? Several thousand
dollars? A couple of thousand dollars? I really have no idea. Thanks.
