[pct-l] Dogs on trail?
People have taken dogs on the whole trail, except some of the National Parks
in California.
There should be no problem taking dogs in Oregon except for Crater Lake,
where you need to have them on a leash.
Beware, however, of the section just North of McKenzie Pass - there is a
somewhat long stretch through sharp volcanic rock. I wouldn't suggest that
part with a dog, unless you have plenty of booties - or carry the dog. But,
from the Three Sisters north is probably the most beautiful part of the
trail (except for Crater Lake and Mt. Thielsen) and water is not generally a
problem.
Also, remember that much of the Southern section doesn't have a lot of
water. Other sections also have water problems, but that is the worst.

is allowed and kosher to take one dog on the trail for a 18 day hike. Any
ideas?
