At creekside camp [mi. 237] last year I saw the 1st bear of my hike.
he was heading for my pack but was easily scared off.But at arrastre
trail camp just 20mi ahead my friend Tom Jackson had his tent poles
broken by a bear,he was in the tent at the time.I'd be cautious in this area 
of established campsights .  jeff [rogue]
