[pct-l] San Diego Trail Angels
For the fourth year in a row (and possibly many years before) water will be
stashed at Scissor's Crossing, San Felipe Hills (with the Sierra Club) and a
site called the "Lucky 5" site by supporters - originators of the ADZPCTKO
(and the Sierra Club), starting with the weekend of the ADZ and continuing
until mid to late May. Details will be given at the ADZPCTKO or you can
email Charlie Jones.
Water stashed in the open at Scissor's Crossing has been stolen in the past,
so a location was established just off of the trail (instead of the road)
before you get to the road.
The "Lucky 5" site is on the trail north of Mt. Laguna where the trail comes
the closest to the Sunrise Highway, before dropping down into Oreflame
Canyon.
Please recognize that this water is for the purpose of supplying PCT hikers
with EMERGENCY water supply. Thus, if water is available elsewhere, you have
enough or is flowing in the creek at Scissors Crossing and can be filtered,
then please leave the stashed water for those coming behind you. When it
gets really hot later in May these supplies become critical. Please take
only what you NEED and do not waste it. The water supplied comes at a high
price of time, effort and money by a very few, very considerate, Trail
Angels.
Best regards,
Strider
