[pct-l] Palm Springs aerial tramway

Does anybody know if it is convenient or even desirable to use the
tramway to get to/from Palm Springs for a resupply stop in lieu of
Idyllwild?  I'd like to avoid the 2400' loss/gain to Idyllwild + Palm
Springs has everthing.
