Hey Guys,
I live up in the Crescent City area and I've actually hiked a few miles of
the Pacific Coast Trail. While there are credible reports of bears being in the
area and the usual over caution by the rangers; there seems to be very little
real threat from bears. Bear canisters are NOT required. Of course Monte and a
few others may want to carry canisters just to annoy the rangers (s).
