[pct-l] RE: Giardia article

Great article. This backs up something a retired Forest Service worker told
me a couple of years ago.
The Forest Service used to have high rates of disability during firefighting
operations due to diarrhoea. They placed soap and water dispensers at the
start of their food lines and made a rule "no wash no food" and the problem
went away.
Apparently, even washing your hands regularly in stream water (no soap)
reduces
problems dramatically.
I used to wonder if I was adding to the pollution problem by washing my
hands
in streams, but the article puts it into perspective. It's just a drop in
the
ocean.
