I must confess. I yielded to the temptation to sneak thru the woods to avoid 
paying the $10 entrance fee to Crater Lake. It was easy. Then one day I met a 
thru hiker who said he did the same thing and got caught by the entrance 
station dudette. Then he was told he didn't need to sneak in because entry 
was free to PCT thru hikers. Don't know if this is still true. Boy did I feel 
dumb, but hey, how was I supposed to know?
