[pct-l] Re: Getting to Stehekin

As you know, you can only reach Stehekin by foot, by boat or by float
plane. If you are going in by boat, you can catch the ferry in Chelan,
Wash., which is at the other end of Lake Chelan. The problem is getting
from the Seattle airport to Chelan. My recommendation would be to rent a
car and drive. It would be a four- to five-hour trip depending on
traffic. If your friend would rather take a bus, there is a Trailways bus
that leaves Seattle twice a day for Wenatchee and there may be connections
between Wenatchee and Chelan. But it would be a long ordeal and he'd still
face the four-hour boat ride between Chelan and Stehekin. You can call
Northwest Trailways at 1-800-366-3830.

An easier alternative would be to meet you where the PCT crosses
Snoqualmie or Stevens Pass. Both trailheads have much better public
transportation links (but Stehekin is MUCH prettier).
