I find it hard to believe that a spray can is more weight effective than a 
thin walled plastic bottle.

The research shows that diluted deet works better on dry skin than 100%, 
but 100% lasts longer

If you are hiking, how often do you apply on dry skin, vs on dripping 
sweaty skin? so 100% doesn't stay 100% on the skin
