I like the name, "scree bears" for marmots and wanted to share a term I learned in boy scouts. "Mini-bears" are the name for any rodent (mouse, rat, squirrel, marmot, etc.) that will attack your pack, chew holes in it to remove food, or bite you. Mini-bears are plentiful in areas where the major bears are no problem, such as Kolob Canyon in Zion, and the San Gabriel mtns. Marion Davison
