[pct-l] Your next winter stove!

 When you hit the PCT this winter to ski or snowshoe, make sure you are 
carrying an Optimus , or Primus stove over the" lame_O" MSR  stoves . MSR use 
to have a metal pump handles on their older Model 9's, XGK's . Their newer 
stoves have lame plastic pumps which can be " Cross Threaded" or have the 
handle break. ( All in the name of cost cutting ) Though lighter than it's 
rivals Primus and Optimus, ( 2ozs verses 4 ozs.) the Optimus and Primus pumps 
are made from machined metal with metal pump threads and pump handle. The 
connect fittings are better as well on the Swedish stove to boot!!!  Optimus 
fuel bottles are stronger and better made than MSR bottles as well. While 
homemade alcohol burners are tops for the PCT thru-hiker, White gas and 
Kerosene stoves are kings of winter. Optimus has been making durable stoves 
for the last 100 years for a reason. MSR needs to get with the program and go 
back to quality. Check out a Optimus Nova or Primus Multi-fuel. ( And don't 
forget your old license plate!!)
