[pct-l] Oil for the trail

 Olive oil is the hiker's best friend! If you don't use it, you should! Takes 
the place of butter and easy to pack. ( Tops in calories per oz.) Speaking of 
oil, I found a post by someone  of another list that makes my rants seem 
tame. Guy  was speaking how much we really need that Artic refuge oil to help 
our fight of the Taliban. He ranted how dependent we are on foreign oil. Help 
me out here, but doesn't most of the point barrow oil go overseas? Even a 
narrow-minded redneck myself can see through this smokescreen!! The artic oil 
isn't going anywhere soon , gas is 1.29 per gallon and I still see alot of 
rather large SUVs of the highway.
