[pct-l] Cascade Locks and Mt. Adams

Have a good hike Monte. I am leaving for my hike between Tuolumne and
Kennedy Meadosw [Hwy 108] on the Tahoe-Yousmite Trail. I will take the
typical 14 days to hike the 71 miles. Typicaly, that is, for a civilized
hiker who sips the trail like a fine wine.

 Off to Cascade Locks tomorrow night to see PA Jeff, Bluefoote and a few of 
this year's PCT crowd. Then climb Adams on Saturday and Sunday. I will be 
complete with my sign" Your Trail Pass dollars at Work!!". The last three 
miles to Cold Springs Campground and trailhead are something to behold. Also

, some Mountains have a few 55 gallon drums for human waste like Rainier) Or

a waste bag ( like Shasta) ,but Adams  is still in the dark ages and advises

climbers to bury your waste. 15 dollars to climb a peak and little to show 
for your money!! Forest Service is just a tax monster in a fannel shirt. You

would think they would grade the road if only for their trucks. Fires????
Let 
them burn as they part of any forest life and open things up a bit. Save all

the money wasted on firecrews and put it into something like the road 
maintance fund. Also the Gifford Pinchot backcountry campgrounds are managed

by private companies who rake in your 9 dollars a night to camp and little 
else!! ( OK, they put in a roll of tolet paper in the outhouse and dump the 
garbage can) Does anyone know how to bid on these jobs as I would love to do

it for only 5 bucks a night per campsite!! These private companies do not 
help anyone but themselves.  I know I will be bombed with , " We all need to

pay alittle more for the good of the cause". Well , I pay plenty of taxes
and 
totally feel a user fee" THAT DOES NOT GO ANYWHERE" but a big general fund 
and offers nothing I can see is a bunch of crock. ==== Pay and smile big,
but 
when I drive up Saturday I will make as much noise to anyone in a green 
uniform I see.
