[pct-l] Blowgun more accurate?

Just returned from a week doing the section from the canadian boder to
Rainiy Pass. Added 40 more miles because I did not want to do the things
necessary to get a horse into Canada. I will be writing up my journal and
putting it on pcthiker.com (under journals and goforth). Lots of smoke at
times; and it makes quite a sunset to watch the billows of cumulous smoke
clouds building in the rosy light.
Lost my quirt. I don't wear spurs. sometimes you need to get your horses
attention real fast.
When Monty first brought up the wristrocket, I immediately thought of a
blowgun - can be more accurate, light, taking up and less space and without
the force of a slingshot. Although there are some really lethal
projectiles in the Cabelais catalog, there are some small plastic ones that
might get a bears attention without real harm.
Well anyway, I am thinking about a quirt, blowgun, and tarp pole combo.
(in addition to a canister of course -: ). I rarely put up my tarp. It
could also be used as a pack stiffener.
