i just got back from Tahoe to Yosemite. I never used DEET or any repellent one time of the 10 days. There was one meadow in Yosemite (Grace Meadow) that was kinda bad at dusk. I did get bitten perhaps 10-12 times on the whole trip, which was mainly in Grace Meadow and a few other spots at dusk. Most days, I never even saw any Mosquitoes. The bugs are very very light this year due to the low snowfall in the winter. I have been in years past and this was the best that I have seen.
peace,
Dude in texas
