I am starting a new list, named:
The Old, Heavy Weight, Extenal Pack, Wooden Ice Axe, Pre-1980, 6 month 
Through Hike (note correct spelling of "through") List.

Don't bother applying if:
- You have a strong opinion about ultra, semi or highly lightweight gear
- You have or have ever had an internal piece of sh!t pack
- You know anything about syl-nylon 
- You use any popcan for anything other than a container for beverages
- Your pack weighs less than 45 pounds without food, water or luxury items
- You carry a silly @ss bear canister
- You didn't do an ultra pure complete through hike in a single calendar year 
before 1980 (we'll let the first flame war be on what exactly an "ultra pure" 
through hike is, considering the trail wasn't even near completion by then)
