[pct-l] Wash State Snow Levels--Harts Pass Report

Just got back from a family camping trip to the North Cascades that
included a drive up to Harts Pass, the last road crossing on the PCT
before Canada. The reports about the snow levels this year are true. Harts
Pass was snow free--about three to four weeks ahead of normal. If any year
was made for southbound through hikes, this was the one. I checked the
register by the Guard Station to see if Triple Crowner Brian Robinson had
come by yet :-) but I guess he's still in Oregon, making his way north.
One negative side to the lack of snow is the increase in fire danger. Who
knows what the North Cascades are going to be like in late September when
most of the through hikers arrive?
