One of the biggest problems I had on the trail was keeping my mind from
turning into mush on the trail. Sure it is nice just to sit in a nice
meadow for a few hours and do nothing, but I couldn't do this all the
time. I noticed that when I would hike my brain would be more active. I
was doing 25-33 mile days all through Oregon. One guy asked me how I
could see anything. That was exactly it, I was always curious about
what was up around the next corner. Sometimes I would just walk because
I felt more like walking than sitting down and taking a break. Some of
my best memories were on days where I did more than 30 miles.
As someone said earlier, everyone is different.
In a different subject matter, I placed the beta version of the PCT
planner online at http://www.pctplanner.com, I'm still working out a few
kinks and getting the town info fully updated. You can still access the
old version from the main homepage of the program.
