NoNoNo!!! :-) Remember the Storrie Fire last fall??
Much of the hillside north and south of Belden was burned.
I believe both the "origional" PCT and the detour route
on the north side were affected, as well as the Bucks Lake
Wilderness to the south. When I came south through there last
Sept. the trail was on fire and closed to all traffic from Buck's Summit
to Humboldt Rd. at Humboldt Summit. A stiff fine would be handed
anyone who defied the closure. I hiked a @50 mile detour around
the burn; read the Belden PO journal for Scott Williamson's
hair raising experience with the fire! At any rate, call the
Forrest Service for current trail conditions.
