[pct-l] Feet?

The question was asked,

> Is there some way to toughen up your feet for the PCT to prevent blisters?
So far people have suggested I rub them; (my feet that is) every night with
a pumas stone, while other say to use alcohal or wear sandles year round.
I'm interested in hearing your experiences.

In my experience, I recommend getting mileage on your feet to get them in
shape for the tough trail and the long days. You can use soaks of betadine
and tea, skin tougheners, powders or lubricants, but unless you have spent
time on your feet getting them in shape, you will have problems regardless
of what else you try. I can teach you how to tape your feet, fix blisters,
pick shoes or boots and socks and other tips but you need the miles on your
feet, in somewhat the same conditions as you will be in when you hike.
