[pct-l] best time for California portion of PCT?

I second Dave's comments and would humbly add:

 I would not hesitate to say it little stronger...by June the
temps are **soaring** into the triple digit ranges. I have been "caught"
in the desert, near Borrego, in June 99, and it was over 108 deg F
(in the shade!).  And, in early twilight the scorpions
were out in full force. none of this hit and miss April stuff :-)

The rattlers also seemingly took up permanent residence by then,
on the trail, sunning themselves :-))
