[pct-l] Tarp v. Tent

I've always been a bivy guy, but I usually only get to pack it in during the
winters, and winters in Virginia just wouldn't cut it with a tarp, imo.

This summer I'm moving to San Diego, and I am looking forward to a lot of
packing.  This tarp concept intrigues me, and here's my question.  I'm going to
try out tarping in April when I pack in for a few days and want to know before
I do the buy and try method, at 6' 2", how big should I go for a tarp?  I'm
thinking this 10'X12' ultralight at campmor seems kinda big, but I'm thinking
big = guaranteed weather protection and for 19 oz before the guides, etc..
that's not too bad.

Thoughts?
