those books are good for locating potential hikes,
and trailhead, etc......but If you're PCT hiking,
sections of usual up, down, and all around
can be depicted as straight dotted lines, therefore
misleading the hiker into thinking they've got it
easy.

used that book to find the "trailhead" that we
dayhiked the "straight line" from Anza/Terwilliger Valley=20
to Hwy. 74 and back yesterday.
up, down, all around and friggin' COLD !............
