The "Chairman" in 1977 carried an aluminum beach chair strapped to the back
of his pack for an estimated 2000 miles! Some chose the luxury of comfort at
a price that is acceptable to them and only them. Each sets what level of
price is acceptable.
I, for one, like to hear Tom's well thought out, logical and well defended
views. They are refreshing and make you re-think your strategies, priorities
and goals on the trail. These are very personal to each person. The broader
the spectrum of ideas presented on this list, the better it will be, IMHO.
