[pct-l] Dehydrating sausage/hot dogs?

I am new to dehydrating. However, it seems adding oil to dehydrated
hamberger makes it taste great. This might work with other meats. However,
beef stick, slim jims etc are a usual staple of convience stores

We didn't try dehydrating, but picked up Slim Jims or pepperoni sticks along
the way as we picked up our resupply boxes. Meat sticks and cheese seemed to
be available everywhere, even at MiniMarts. Belden and Sierra City and
Stehekin had very few shopping choices, though.
