[pct-l] bivy

Hi Mary-

Just for completeness sake- a bivy shelter is typically
waterproof or Gortex (water-resistant- it breathes)- such
as OR (Outdoor Research, Inc model I have- retails ! $200).
It is *very* small. Its dimensions are close to that of a
large size (6-4 x 24") sleeping bag which was the reason
for the reference to a coffin in an earlier email :-)
Very difficult to store gear, get dressed, etc. It is essentially
like sleeping in a garmet bag.
