RE: [pct-l] Bear Bells

Personal experience is that the sound of either the human voice (singing or 
talking - but you REALLY don't want to hear me sing) or the tapping of an 
ice axe on rock will carry much further than the sound of 'bear bells'.  
Bear bells are nothing but someone's insupportable and unproven idea for 
something to market to the flatland touristers.  The problem (as usual with 
these ideas) is that they probably really did make some money from it.  So - 
watch out, there'll be another one coming down the road pretty soon.  :-)  
OTOH, the kids love them.
