Re: [pct-l] thru-hiker permit?

I lost my thru permit and feared being caught without one. I was in Yosemite.
The ranger simply issued me a new one on the spot. In Lassen Park I was told
by an inquisitive, obviously lonesome ranger who literally had nothing better
to do than check permits in order to strike up a conversation that my thru
permit wasn't valid in Lassen. Rather than argue with him I just let him
issue me a "valid" permit. I have found that most backcountry rangers are
lenient can't we all just get along types. I have met a few exceptions to the
rule, but not on my PCT hike
